No gimmick, in New York and New Jersey. Sanctuary is real.
I just read another report about two alleged RAPISTS who were released back into the public. Why, because two jurisdictions, one in New York and one in New Jersey were not allowed to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
One Republican candidate vying for the nomination in AZ CD2 said sanctuary is, “little more than a political gimmick.” Hmm. Let’s see how naïve that is. Read on.
Luciano Trejo-Dominguez was arrested on August 12, 2019 by the Vineland Police Department (New Jersey – Immigrant Trust Directive) for aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault (victim 13-15 years old), criminal restraint, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.
On Aug. 13, 2019 and Aug. 14, 2019, respectively, the Pacific Enforcement Response Center and the ICE office in Mount Laurel both lodged detainers on Trejo-Dominguez with the Cumberland County Jail. He was released August 23, 2019 and remains at-large.
Joaquin Rodriguez Quiroz
Joaquin Rodriguez Quiroz was arrested on September 6, 2019, by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety charged with Rape 3rd: Victim less than 17 years old perpetrator 21 years or more in violation of New York State Penal Law 130.25 subsection 2 a E class felony.
On Sept. 7, 2019, ICE lodged a detainer with Westchester County Jail. Westchester County Jail declined the detainer and Rodriguez Quiroz posted a bond. He is currently at-large.
When a city, county, or even a state decides unilaterally they are not going to cooperate with federal officials enforcing illegal immigration, it is a problem. These jurisdictions are releasing dangerous evil people back into the population instead of handing them over to ICE for deportation proceedings.
People are mobile. I wonder very much if, for example, Green Valley, Benson or Sierra Vista residents would like a Luciano Trejo-Dominguez alleged child rapist, or a Joaquin Rodriguez Quiroz alleged child rapist let go in Tucson to walk the streets.
See it’s a problem. Because the good people in these and other cities in southeast Arizona, and for that matter the rest of the State of Arizona and the rest of the United States don’t have a vote in this matter.
Immigration enforcement is a federal issue. Local law enforcement should not be hamstrung by progressive policies.
I’ll bet if you ask law enforcement, they would tell you they want Mr. Luciano Trejo-Dominguez alleged child rapist and Mr. Joaquin Rodriguez Quiroz alleged child rapist off the streets.
